Army Football’s 2026 American Conference Opponents Announced
October 14, 2025 | Football
WEST POINT, N.Y. — The American Conference has announced the new scheduling model for conference games that was unanimously approved by the league's athletic directors and will go into effect for the 2026 football season.
Army will host East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, South Florida, and Tulane at Michie Stadium. It will mark Army's first meeting with South Florida since joining the conference.
The Black Knights will travel to Memphis, Rice, Temple, and Tulsa. The matchup with Memphis will also be Army's first against the Tigers as a member of The American.
The 2026 season will be The American's third in its current 14-team configuration. Each team will play eight conference games, with four at home and four on the road.
The scheduling format fulfills a number of strategic and practical objectives set by the conference.
There are no repeat matchups played at the same site from 2025 to 2026, and no team will avoid a particular opponent in consecutive years. Each team will play at least one road game in the Eastern and Central time zones and will have at least one road game in the state of Texas in a two-year span.
The American will continue with a single-division format in 2026. The top two teams in the final regular-season standings will qualify for the American Championship Game.
The full 2026 conference schedule will be announced in February.
