January 23, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
BETHLEHEM, PA - Army West Point women's lacrosse was selected third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, announced today by the league.
In addition, junior midfielder Brigid Duffy and junior attacker Allison Reilly were each named to the Preseason All-Patriot League team after garnering first team all-league honors in 2024.
Duffy earned her second consecutive First Team All-Patriot League recognition during her sophomore campaign in 2024, ranking in the top-five in the conference in points, ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers - while no other player was top-five in more than one of those categories. She led the conference with 29 caused turnovers and was the only player in the country to register 60-plus goals, 100-plus draw controls and 20-plus caused turnovers. She logged 62 goals overall which set a new program record for the Black Knights. Duffy was also named a Preseason First Team All-American from USA Lacrosse earlier in the week after being named a USA Lacrosse All-American this past season.
Reilly is coming off a breakout campaign in 2024 which saw her garner First Team All-Patriot League honors. She was the leading scorer in the conference during the regular season with 95 points and was the lone player to tab 40 goals and 40 assists in the Patriot League. Reilly dominated in conference play, logging five games with eight-plus points and a pair of Patriot League Attacker of the Week awards. Reilly was a USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention in 2024.
Both Duffy and Reilly helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the U20 World Championships in Hong Kong, as the USA squad boasted an undefeated record with a 23-6 victory over Canada in the Championship matchup.
Army is coming off a 2024 campaign which saw it post a 7-2 mark in the Patriot League to earn the third seed in the Patriot League Tournament.
The Black Knights will open the new season with a home matchup on Saturday, February 8th against Rutgers with opening draw set for noon.
