West Point, N.Y. – Army West Point head football coach Jeff Monken and senior DL Dre Miller have been nominated to the 2024 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
The 2024 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has a record 178 nominees, representing players and coaches from colleges and universities across the country. Monken is one of only 11 head coaches to be represented.
A native of Savannah, Ga., Miler appeared in nine games last season for the Black Knights.
In the community, Miller has worked with the Boys and Girls Club of America and has been active with social initiatives such as the Teens for Literacy program, the NAACP and has advocated for voter registration in local communities.
In addition, Allstate is partnering with the Wuerffel Foundation to bring together two of the most meaningful awards in college football.
The nomination marks Monken's second consecutive season making the initial nomination list. Among Monken's numerous acts of good work to the community, he annually plays and participates in the Peach Bowl Golf Tournament with proceeds from the competition benefiting a charitable foundation of his choice.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy will honor a student-athlete who is inspired to serve others and make a positive impact on society. Together with the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team the awards will mark college football's premier honors for community service.
The final roster of 23 award recipients announced later in September will bring together:
