BETHLEHEM, PA - Army West Point women's lacrosse senior midfielder Madeline Lenkart and sophomore defender Meghan Pedrani were each named to the Patriot League's Academic All-League Team, announced today by the conference.
Lenkart is a systems engineering major and holds a 4.070 cumulative GPA throughout her time at West Point. The Army captain was a second team All-Patriot League selection on the field, after ranking in the top-five in the conference in ground balls per game and caused turnovers per game in conference play. She is set to attend grad school Purdue University upon graduation and will eventually branch military intelligence with a field artillery detail in the Army. She totaled eight points, 38 draw controls, 15 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls in 13 games this season. She was also named Scholar-Athlete of the Month by the Center for Enhanced Performance in March, while also winning a pair of Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week awards in the same month.
Pedrani is a civil engineering major and stands with a 3.969 cumulative GPA so far at West Point. The sophomore was a key cog in the Black Knights' defense this season, starting all 17 games as the Black Knights were one of three programs to allow less than 100 goals in their nine conference games across the campaign. She also caused nine turnovers this season while ranking third on the team with 24 ground balls.
