Baseball Defeated in Ninth Inning at Georgia State

Clinging into a one-run lead, the Georgia State Panthers walked off with a two-run home run to defeat the Black Knights 12-11.
The game saw a combined 26 hits between the sides. Army moves to 5-7 with the setback.
Coleson Titus and Ethan Ellis gave the Black Knights an early 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning with RBI singles. Sam Ruta then made it 4-1 with a two-run home run an inning later.
Thomas Schreck drove in two runs with a fourth inning double to make it 6-3 Black Knights, before William Parker left the yard with a two-run homer in the fifth.
With the score 8-8 in the sixth, Titus drew a bases-loaded walk in the before Parker once again drew in a pair of runs with a two-out double.
Starting pitcher Matthew Ronnebaum pitched 4.2 innings, striking out four. Trey Ates then recorded three strikeouts over 1.1 innings, before giving way to Joe Valchar, who absorbed the unfavorable decision after throwing a perfect seventh and eighth inning.
By the Numbers
4: Parker had four RBIs while going 3-for-5 Saturday.
2: Ruta, Titus and Schreck each had two RBIs.
2-for-4: Titus and Ellis each went 2-for-4.

Berg has reached base 11 games in a row, with Parker following closely with a 10-game on-base streak.
Next Up
Army concludes the series with a doubleheader Sunday at GSU Baseball Complex, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Sunday's doubleheader is tentatively slated for one 7-inning game and one 9-inning game, subject to change.
