Men's Hoops Falls in Heartbreaking Fashion to Close Regular Season

BALTIMORE, MD – The Army West Point men's basketball team lost in heartbreaking fashion Saturday afternoon to Loyola in the final game of the regular season.
Coming into the game, the Black Knights knew they'd be the eight seed in the Patriot League Tournament and that they would host nine seed Holy Cross who lost earlier in the day.
Ryan Curry had a 20-point performance for the second consecutive game. It was his third of the season. He went 7-9 from the field, 3-4 from three, and tacked on four assists and three rebounds. On the week Curry went 14-22 from the field, 7-11 from deep for 41 points. He totaled 10 assists and five rebounds.
Jaden Ellis had a career day as well finishing with 12 points on 5-8 shooting to go with four assists.
Up by one with 5.9 seconds left, the Black Knights had a costly turnover that led to a Loyola layup to give them the lead and the win.
Army finishes the regular season 10-21 and 6-12 in Patriot League play. Picked to finish in last place in the preseason poll they end up finishing as the eight seed going into the Patriot League Tournament.
