Wrestling Drops Heartbreaker to No. 15 Lehigh

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point wrestling dropped a heartbreaker to No. 15 Lehigh that came down to the final fight of the day. It was a thrilling back and forth affair but the Black Knights came up just short for their first loss in EIWA competition.
The meet started with Dalton Harkins winning by major decision in the 165 division to put Army up 4-0. Ben Pasiuk followed that up with another major decision to go up 8-0. Lehigh got one back in the 184 class to make it an 8-3 match. Lehigh tied things at 8-8 after the 197 bout. The Mountain Hawks gained a 12-8 lead after a major decision in the 285 fight. They extended their lead to 15-8 in the next fight. A dominant second period by Connor Collins put him up 11-1 after entering the period tied at 0-0. He went on the win 16-1 to make it a 15-13 match. Lehigh took the next one to go up 18-13 with two matches to go. Matt Williams gave the Black Knights life going into the final match with a massive 6-4 decision in 149 to make it 18-16. Lehigh took the final fight of the day with a 7-6 decision to seal the match.
Sitting at 4-1 in EIWA competition, next up for Army is the Star Match presented by USAA on Feb. 16 at 7:30 PM in Annapolis before returning home to Christl Arena one last time to take on American on Feb. 25 at 5 PM.
