Gymnastics Places Third at All-Academy Championships

DALLAS, TX - Army West Point gymnastics competed in the annual All-Academy Championships against Navy and Air Force on Saturday night in Dallas, placing third with a team score of 382.500. Air Force claimed the title with a mark of 397.250 while the Midshipmen posted a score of 390.100 for second.

Beginning on floor, plebe Jaden Blank paced the Black Knights with a 13.650 mark, which was good for the fourth-highest individual total at the meet, as Army's team score of 66.700 edged Navy's 65.550. Franco Peirano also had a strong routine, recording a 13.600.
Noah Duran led Army on pommel with a mark of 13.050, as reigning ECAC Specialist of the Week Maddox Pabellon came in just behind with a 12.900 as the Black Knights team score totaled 62.000 in the event.
Blaze Kennedy finished fifth in the meet on still rings, setting the standard for Army with a 12.750. Blank continued to impress, collecting a 12.700 on rings as well as Army eventually registered a 62.400 to top the Midshipmen in the team scoring.
Army's impressive vault score of 69.150 tied Air Force in the team-scoring, as Nick Lester placed third with a huge 14.100 performance to lead Army. Johnathan Pinc (13.950) and Peirano (13.900) also enjoyed high marks leading Army to a tie for the win in the event.
On parallel bars, Jacob Brenner secured a top-five finish with a score of 13.450. Kennedy continued to put points on the board for Army with his 13.100 as Army eventually tabbed a 63.400 mark as a team in the event.
Tucker Blanchard medaled on high bar with a 12.850 while Zachary Perez also had a productive routine with his 12.600. In the all-around, Army's lone competitor Blank recorded a mark of 75.100 throughout the meet.
Army will ready for another road meet this upcoming Saturday, for a tri-meet with Nebraska and Greenville from Lincoln, Neb., with action set to begin at 2:00 p.m. EST.
