BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point Wrestling sent 26 competitors to Sunday's Journeyman Collegiate Classic in Bethlehem, Pa. Sunday.
The event at Freedom High School featured numerous round-robin flights per weight class. Six Black Knight wrestlers finished first in their respective pools.
Ryan Alvarado (157H, Pool A), Austin Kohlhofer (197B, Pool A), Reid Schroeder (197C, Pool A) and Jackson Van Kley (197F, Pool A) each won their pools. In certain flights with multiple pools, the corresponding flight finishers in the opposite pools would wrestle to be overall flight winner.
Schroeder and Van Kley won their respective flights over the opposite pool winner. Schroeder knocked off Max Acciardi of Arizona State in the 197C final. Van Kley meanwhile beat Long Island's Gavin Claro in the 197F final.
Next Up
Army will go to Buffalo next weekend for a tri-meet vs. Purdue and Buffalo. The action commences at 10 a.m. Sunday.
