October 21, 2024 | Football
IRVING, TEXAS – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly football honors from Week 8 of the 2024 season. Army senior quarterback Bryson Daily has been named Offensive Player of the Week, marking back-to-back-to-back weeks taking home the award.
Daily is the only three-time winner of the award this season.
Daily had another huge day in leading No. 23 Army to its 11th consecutive win as the Black Knights topped East Carolina 45-28.
Daily rushed for a career-high 171 yards and five touchdowns on 31 carries, while he completed 7-of-10 passes for 147 yards and a passing touchdown to account for six total TDs, becoming the first Army player since Elmer Oliphant in 1916 to figure in six touchdowns. Daily has a program-record 19 rushing touchdowns this season, the most of any FBS player, while his 909 rushing yards ranks third nationally.
He broke two single-season program records in what was only Army's seventh game of the season, most rushing touchdowns in a season, and most touchdowns responsible for in a season. Daily (19 rushing, 7 passing TDs) broke the Army single-season touchdowns responsible for record, surpassing the mark held by (Leamon Hall, 1977 and Kelvin Hopkins Jr., 2018).
Daily (19 rushing TDs and counting) broke the record for most rushing scores in a single season breaking Carlton Jones' (2004), Trent Steelman's (2012) and Kelvin Hopkins Jr.'s (2018) mark of 17.
