GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The Army West Point golf team finished its first tournament of the season, placing 18th at the Folds of Honor Collegiate at American Dunes Golf Club.

The Black Knights wrapped up the final day with a team score of 314 (+30) and finished with a team score of 938 (+86). Notre Dame came from behind to win the tournament, shooting 2-under as a team on the final day to move up four spots to take the title at 8-over for the tournament. Cecil Belisle of Kansas was the only player to shoot under par at the end of the three rounds and took home the individual championship at 1-under par.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• John Heckel Jr. was Army's best player on the course for the three days and finished 7-over par which put him in a tie for 33rd place.
• He shot a 1-over 72 in the final round with an eagle on his ninth of the day (18th on the course).
• Thanks to that eagle, Heckel Jr. shot even on his front nine and 1-over on the second nine and posted 14 pars during his round.
• Lake Kim had his best day of the tournament on Wednesday with a 5-over 76.
• He posted three birdies in his first nine and was 1-under through 10.

The Black Knights return to action on the weekend of Sept. 16-17 at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Invitational in Connecticut.
