September 23, 2023 | Women's Soccer
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Bucknell in the rain in Malek Stadium on Saturday night.
Bucknell opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Hanna Andican scored to put the Bison up 1-0.
That was the score at the break as Army trailed in shots 11-8 and shots on goal 3-2.
In the second half the Black Knights came out on fire. Brigid Duffy scored her team leading fourth goal of the year to tie things up in the 47th minute.
The goals kept coming as Madison Niebish would score her first career goal to give the Black Knights the 2-1 lead.
Army would continue its dominance in the final 10 minutes by adding some insurance in the 85th minute when Jasmine Talley netted her third of the year to make it a 3-1.
That score would hold as Army picked up a massive conference win over the defending Patriot League Tournament champions Bucknell to move to 1-1-1 in conference play.
In the end Army would out shoot Bucknell 19-14 and have 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Sage Strohman was on fire yet again making six saves on the night. She's only allowed three goals in her last five games.
Army is now off until they take on Lehigh on Sunday, Oct. 1 on the road at 2 p.m.
