Women's Soccer Falls to Lehigh 1-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Army West Point women's soccer team fell to Lehigh by a score of 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Army moves to 4-6-3 and 1-2-1 in Patriot League play on the year.
The first half saw Lehigh get two shots on goal on seven shots compared to Army's two shots with no shots on goal.
Brigid Duffy had the best look of the half for either team in the 30th minute but it went off the woodwork.
In the 40th minute Kiera Vesy put the ball in the back of the net from just in front of midfield but the goal was disallowed after a foul was called.
The Mountain Hawks opened the second half with a goal to go up 1-0 in the 54th minute.
Duffy got the Black Knights first shot on goal in the 66th minute but the Lehigh keeper was able to make the save.
Kaelan Bradley was able to put a near perfect free kick on frame but the Mountain Hawk keeper was able to send it over the post.
The Black Knights were able to create consistent pressure on the Lehigh back line for the latter half of the second half but were unable to find the equalizer and would ultimately fall by a score of 1-0.
Army turns its attention to Loyola who they will take on at Malek Stadium on Friday Oct. 6 at 5 PM.
