Women's Soccer Picks Up a Point on the Road Against Holy Cross
September 20, 2023 | Women's Soccer
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Army West Point women's soccer team battled Holy Cross to a 0-0 draw on the road Wednesday night.
Sage Strohman earned her fourth clean sheet of the year, making three saves on the night and coming off her line making a handful of nice stops before they developed into shots.
Army's best chance the entire night came in the 30th minute when Melanie Hupp had a great shot that beat the Holy Cross keeper but grazed off the lower portion of the top woodwork and trickled back into the field of play.
Holy Cross' best chance came in the 88th minute off of a corner kick. The shot went to the left of Strohman and would've found the back of the net for a game winner but Brigid Duffy was right there to clear it off the line and seal a point on the road for the Black Knights.
Tonight's game sets a record for longest road winless streak in program history as the Black Knights now sit at 0-4-3 on the road this year.
Next up the Black Knights welcome Bucknell to Malek Stadium for a rematch of the Patriot League Championship Game last season. In two matchups last season Army and Bucknell played a total of 210 minutes without a single goal scored. Strohman made a grand total of 13 saves across the two games.
