WEST POINT, N.Y. –2022 Rudy Scholz Award winner and Army West Point men's rugby alum Larry Williams has been named to the Atlantic Coast All-Star Team that will compete at the World University Rugby Invitational this month in Bordeaux, France.
"It is an absolute honor to be able to represent our country at the World University Rugby Invitational Tournament," Williams said. There are some solid players on this squad and I'm ready to go compete against some of the best in the world. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am ready to get to work and put my hand up on the world stage."
The team will compete in a pool against Ikey Tigers (University of Cape Town), New Zealand Universities Colts, the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, Université de Bordeaux, and Sydney University.
Teams will face off against each other over the course of three days. The games are 20 minute halves. After that the top four teams will advance to the semifinals.
The games will be played Sep. 21, Sep. 23, Sep. 25, Sep. 26, and Sep. 28
