Kovaci Lee Welcomes Doron to Coaching Staff

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Gilad Doron joined the Army West Point volleyball program as an Assistant Coach in August 2023. Doron comes to the banks of the Hudson after spending seven seasons as the head coach at Dartmouth College.Â
While at Dartmouth, he managed all aspects of recruiting national and international student-athletes. From 2020-2022, Doron served as the Ivy League Coaches Chair. He also designed, implemented, and supervised all practices and conditioning sessions for individual players and teams. Doron also led the team to a 16-8 record in 2022, finishing fourth in the conference. He led the team to rank #25 in the NCAA in serve aces per set in 2022. At Dartmouth, Doron coached All-Ivy League players in 2016-18 and 2021-22.Â
Prior to coaching at Dartmouth, Doron was the head coach at the University of San Francisco's indoor and sand volleyball teams from 2007-2016. At San Francisco, he managed all aspects of recruiting national and international student-athletes. Doron also initiated and developed USF's first sand volleyball team in 2013. He was also the All-Time winning coach in USF program history (Overall and WCC). While at the helm at USF, Doron helped lead the program to its highest team ranking (22nd AVCA Poll 2008) and an NCAA Appearance in 2008.Â
During his coaching career, Doron was the head coach at Villanova from 2004-2007, where he coached All-Big East conference players (2005-2006) and coached District 1 Academic All-American Players (2004-2006). The program also earned the AVCA/Game 1 Plan Team Academic Excellence Award (2004-2006).Â
Doron also made stops at the Philadelphia Volleyball Academy (2003-2007) where he was the founder, technical director, and coach. Was the technical director and coach at Synergy Volleyball Club (2000-2003), Assistant Coach at Temple University from 1996-2000, and was the head volleyball coach at Mate Asher Volleyball Club in Israel from 1994-1996.Â
Doron graduated from The Western Galilee College in Yad-Natan, Israel with an Associate Degree in Industrial Management Engineering and Marketing in 1995 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University in 2000 with a degree in Finance and Risk Management Insurance. Doron was also a member of the Israeli Defense Forces from 1986-89.
