Monken Announces Staff Promotions and Additions Ahead of the 2023 Season

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point football head coach Jeff Monken has announced several staff promotions and additions heading into the 2023 season.
Ayden Opfer has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director – Director of Football Operations, where he specializes in planning and executing team travel, team meals and all other cadet-athlete life support functions. Opfer, who graduated from Bowling Green University in 2017, enters his third season with the Army football program.
Clayton Kendrick-Holmes is now the Associate Athletic Director for Football – Chief of Staff. Kendrick-Holmes enters his sixth season at Army, serving as the Chief of Staff. Prior to West Point, Kendrick-Holmes was the head coach of head coach at SUNY Maritime College where he posted a 63-55 (.534) overall record, including an undefeated season in 2010.
Captain Luke Proulx takes over as the Director of Player Development. CPT Proulx is no stranger to West Point, as he is a 2016 graduate and played for Head Coach Jeff Monken as a defensive back on the team (2012-15). CPT Proulx is an enlisted Infantry Officer. As a lieutenant, CPT Proulx served with 2nd Brigade, 1st Armor Division. After attending Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning Georgia, he commanded a rifle company in 1st Brigade, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, JBLM WA.
Kamryn Rodriguez joined the staff in March 2023 as the On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator. Rodriguez comes to West Point after experiences at MGM as the Special Events Marketing Coordinator and State University of New York Athletic Conference as an Administrative Operations Assistant. Rodriguez earned her degree from SUNY Cortland in May of 2022 where she was an All-American gymnast.
Connor Waltz joins as the Recruiting Creative Content Coordinator. This past season, Waltz served as the Creative Content Intern. Waltz graduated from Kansas Wesleyan in 2023, where he was a linebacker on the football team.
Kriston Guerra has been hired as the Director of Football On-Campus Recruiting. Guerra comes to the banks of the Hudson after spending time in the recruiting department at the University of Texas as well as the University of Charlotte. Guerra graduated from the University of Mount Olive (N.C) in 2019, where she was a member of the lacrosse team.
Delory Nichols has been added as Director of Football Recruiting. Nichols comes to West Point after spending this past season at Stony Brook University where he was the Assistant Director of Player Personnel and Offensive Assistant. There Nicholas was responsible for the direction and administration of all recruiting activities for the Seawolves football program.
Austin Leake has been added as the new Director of Player Personnel. Leake comes to West Point after coaching the Tight Ends last season at Henderson State. Leake graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 2015.
Zach Fanelli takes the role of Assistant Director of Football Video Operations. Fanelli spent the last two seasons (2021-22) at Bucknell University as the Manager of Football Video Operations. Fanelli graduated in 2020 from William Patterson University.
Kyle Highland enters his first season as the Assistant Director of Football Operations. Highland comes to West Point after spending the last eight seasons with the Iowa State football program. Highland is a 2016 graduate of Simpson College where he was a member of the football team.
