Army Drops Road Contest to La Salle

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Despite outshooting the Explorers 6-5, the Army West Point men's soccer team dropped their first road game of the season to La Salle on Tuesday night at McCarthy Stadium in Philadelphia.
How it Happened
La Salle came out looking to score. Just over a minute in, Explorer forward Justin Brunow got a shot away right in front of the Army net, followed by another close-range chance by Evan Watt in the 14th minute. Black Knight goalkeeper Harrison Faulkner was able to come up big and make both stops to keep it tied.
Army midfielder Drew Clement had an excellent scoring chance in the 20th minute that La Salle goalkeeper Filip Sabatti was able to keep out of the net. Explorer freshman Yuvual Nimrodi responded quickly and scored a goal shortly after in the 23rd minute.
The Black Knights created more scoring opportunities with help from defender Jack Eaton and forward Brandon Bryant but were not able to convert. La Salle was able to close out the game and hang on to their one-goal lead.
Army will head back home to Malek Stadium to take on Michigan State on Friday at 7:00 PM.
