WEST POINT, N.Y – Army West Point running back Tyrell Robinson has been named to the 2023 College Football Comeback Player of the Year Watch List (in partnership with CSC, Associated Press and Fiesta Bowl).
Last season, he was limited to playing in just five games due to injury. He rushed for 321 yards and a touchdown while also hauling in seven passes for 135 yards and a touchdown and returning five punts for 67 yards and a touchdown. Robinson was named a First Team Special Teams Phil Steele All-Independent selection following the 2022 season.
Prior to this season, he was named a Phil Steele Preseason All-Independent first-teamer as a punt returner.
For his career, Robinson has played in 30 career games, rushing 170 times for 1354 yards (8.0 avg.), with four touchdowns. In the receiving game, he has hauled in 25 passes for 592 yards and six touchdowns. The Dallas, Ga. native enters the season ranked No. 16 all-time on Army's all-time all-purpose yardage list with 2650 yards. Robinson would break into the top ten with 425 more all-purpose yards.
