AJ Woodman & Thomas Lake Earn All-Patriot League First Team Honors

BETHLEHEM, PA - Army West Point men's tennis seniors A.J. Woodman and Thomas Lake each earned All-Patriot League first team honors following the season, announced today by the league. The duo helped Army to a 19-12 overall record this season which featured a 15-6 mark at home and 6-1 record in the conference.
Woodman and Lake led from the front all season, operating as one of the top doubles teams in the Patriot League. They logged a 14-6 overall record in doubles, including a 6-1 mark in Patriot League play in flight one. They secured victories in both playoff matchups versus Lafayette and Boston. The duo made good in their matchups with St. John's, DePaul, Drexel, Hofstra and Richmond down the stretch to lead the Black Knights.
Woodman boasted a 12-9 singles record this season as Army's number one, earning a 4-1 record in conference play. Woodman led Army to multiple non-conference victories including wins over Eastern Kentucky, Drexel, Binghamton and Sacred Heart with pivotal victories at hte number one position. He was able to claim victories over Boston in the regular season and Patriot League semifinals, while also take down his opponents from Colgate and Holy Cross. This marks consecutive seasons on the all-league first team for Army's captain.
Lake played his singles at the No. 2 for Army, posting a 10-8 overall record and 4-2 mark in the Patriot League. Lake saw victories over Binghamton, St. John's, DePaul, UC Riverside and Drexel early in the season, rounding into form for the conference schedule. He picked up victories over Colgate, Loyola and Navy in the regular season before securing a win over Lafayette in the Patriot League quarterfinals. It marks the first all-league honor for Lake, after playing a key role in Army's second-place finish in the league's regular season.
