Coach's Corner
"We had great weather today and great results. Our hammer and javelin athletes have been waiting since august to get to compete so there was an extra level of energy today as we got them started. Cameron threw well in the hammer. He didn't win but he was very close to his personal best and his last throw was a big one that he fouled. He performed well considering he was coming off the indoor conference meet last weekend. He is stronger than he was a year ago, his technique is also better. Judging by what I saw today, he will throw pretty far this spring. Chris Barrett won the javelin convincingly. He struggled here last year but today he had a terrific series and his top throw might have been the best opener of his career. Parker also had a good series and had a personal best in the preliminary round. Both of those guys are great competitors and this was a strong indicator of the high level that they have reached." - Director of Track & Field Mike Smith
