DORADO, Puerto Rico – The Army West Point golf team opened the spring season at the Dorado Beach Collegiate tournament at TPC Dorado Beach on Sunday.

The Black Knights currently sit in 14th place after the first round with a team score of 309 (+21). The hosts from UNC Greensboro are at the top of the leaderboard. Ryan Ford of Cincinnati is leading the way among the competitors after shooting an opening-round 65 (-7).

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- James Ballato was the top player the Black Knights, shooting a 3-over 75.
- He had three birdies during his first round.

Army is back on the course for round two tomorrow morning.
