Hockey Drops Game Two with Holy Cross

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point hockey (11-15-4, 10-10-2 AHA) fell by a score of 7-0 to Holy Cross (11-16-3, 10-10-2 AHA) as the Crusaders earned the series split.
After an uneventful opening ten minutes, the action picked up with Holy Cross striking first ath the 15:58 mark with a goal off a rebound from Nick Hale. Heading to the power-play shortly after, the Crusaders took a 2-0 advantage through Devin Phillips. After taking ten penalties the night before, Holy Cross did not take one until the final minute of the first period as Army had life heading into the second.
With Army unable to capitalize on the man advantage, Holy Cross went ahead by three to after a deflected shot floated past Gavin Abric in the Army net. The Crusaders were able to take complete control of the game with a fourth goal before the end of the second period. Holy Cross outshot Army in every period, including 12-9 in the second.
The wheels fell off early in the third period for Army, with two goals in the opening six minutes to chase Abric out of the game. Jack Ricketts scored number seven for the Crusaders, as Louden Hogg notched his first career shutout while making 24 saves for the Black Knights.
