November 25, 2023 | Men's Basketball
VESTAL, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball team's (0-6, 0-0 PL) comeback attempt fell just short to Binghamton (4-3, 0-0 AE) by a score of 75-68 on Saturday afternoon.
Josh Scovens had a career day, scoring a career high 12 points on 5-9 shooting.
The Black Knights went the entire first half without the lead, tying it once. The first half was a struggle, shooting 33.3 percent from the field, 28.5 percent from three, and 16.7 percent from the line. Binghamton matched that with 51.9/40.0/62.5 splits in the opening half.
At the end of the half, the Black Knights trialed 37-25
The second half was much better for the Black Knights, shooting 46.7 percent from the field and outscoring the Bearcats 43-38.
Ryan Curry was able to get going in the second half to finish with a team high 13 points.
TJ Small nailed a three with 56.3 left in the ball game to make it just a four-point game but that's the closet Army would get as they'd fall 75-68.
Charlie Peterson secured the first Army double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kwabena Davis had a season high 10 points.
As a team, the Black knights had four players in double-figures for the first time this season.
Now they turn their attention Central Connecticut State who will make the trip to West Point for a 4 p.m. tip on Wednesday, Nov. 29 kicking off a three game home stand.
