October 17, 2023 | Men's Soccer
West Point, NY – The Army West Point men's soccer team fell to the Drexel Dragons on Tuesday night by a score of 4-1.
How it Happened - The first half saw four of the five goals scored. The Black Knights opened the scoring just two minutes into the game. Army freshman Gage Lyons found the back of the net for his second goal in two games.
The Drexel Dragons tied it up in the 10th minute off a penalty kick due to a handball inside the box. Graduate student Antonio Illuminato, out of Cardito, Italy netted the goal.
Midfielder Patrick Short, would score two goals of his own in the 23rd and 44th minute to make it a 3-1 game heading into the break.
Army threatened in the second half, owning most of the possession time. The Black Knights created open looks and scoring opportunities but could not find the back of the net. Drexel's Joshua Pulla would get one before the final buzzer making it 4-1.
Army will look to bounce back at home this Saturday on Senior Night against Colgate at 6:00 PM.
