Women's Soccer Rolls to 2-0 Victory at Lafayette
October 12, 2023 | Women's Soccer
EASTON, Pa. – The Army West Point women's soccer team (6-6-3, 3-2-1) picked up its first road victory of the season on Wednesday night in a 2-0 win at Lafayette.
The chances came early and often for the Black Knights, Kaelan Bradley fired a shot on frame just 18 seconds into the game. Two minutes later, Jordan Follenweider put a shot on frame
Army broke through in the 23rd minute off a corner kick that was sent to Brigid Duffy, she then sent it to Madison Niebish who slotted it home to go up 1-0.
Just three minutes later in the 26th minute, Bradley scored on a PK to put Army up 2-0 after the Leopards fouled inside the box.
Chances would continue to come but that score line would hold for the rest of the game as the Black Knights would finally get a much-needed win on the road.
Sage Strohman was amazing yet again, making five saves on the night to pick up her sixth clean sheet of the year and 16th of her career.
Army now turns its attention to the biggest game of the year against Navy in the Star Series presented by USAA on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Annapolis.
