Men's Tennis Posts Victories Over Sacred Heart & Fairfield

WEST POINT, NY – Army West Point men's tennis (4-1, 1-0 PL) picked up a pair of victories at home on Sunday, taking down Sacred Heart (0-1, 0-0 NEC) and Fairfield (0-2, 0-0 MAAC).
After dropping the doubles point against Sacred Heart, Army rallied to claim four singles victories to secure the 4-3 win. A.J. Woodman took care of business on court one, collecting a straight set victory. Vishnu Bodavula maintained his perfect singles record this season, also picking up a point for Army with a two-set triumph. Needing two more singles to prevail for the victory, Marcus Sebastian and Jack Hanna provided the spark for Army to edge out the Pioneers, 4-3.
Army got out to a better start against Fairfield, with all three doubles teams posting a victory. Bodavula contributed again, this time in the doubles, recording a 6-0 win alongside Samuel Eden. Thomas Lake got Army its second point on court 2, with a straight-set victory which saw him improve to 2-0 in singles this season. Bodavula and Eden's singles matches would not be necessary to complete, as Nathan Jose and Jake Huarte were able to collect victories for Army. The win marked the fourth straight for the Black Knights who improve to 4-1 this season.
