Carter Headed To Reese's Senior Bowl
January 30, 2023 | Football
WEST POINT, NY -- Army West Point LB Andre Carter has been selected to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl. The game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2:30 p.m. in Mobile, Ala. and will air on NFL Network.
Carter is only the second Army Football player to participate in the Senior Bowl since Brett Toth in 2018.
Carter appeared in 26 games over his four year West Point career (2019-22). He registered 99 tackles (62 solo) and his 20 career sacks rank second in school history, only behind Josh McNary (28.0, 2007-10). In 2021, Carter racked up 15.5 sacks, the most in Army Football single-season history. His mark also ranked second most in the country behind Alabama's Will Anderson, 17.5. Following the 2021 season Carter was the first Army player selected as an Associated Press All-American in 31 years.
The Reese's Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama over the past 73 years. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 900 media members from around the country were credentialed last year. The practices will be held from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 at Hancock Whitney Stadium, home to South Alabama Football.
While in Mobile, Carter will be playing for the National team coached by Las Vegas Raiders Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham.
Chicago Bears Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy will coach the American team.
