Erick Lara Named Patriot League Male Runner of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Army West Point men's cross country junior Erick Lara was named Patriot League male runner of the week, announced on Tuesday afternoon.Â
Lara led the Black Knights to a 28-29 victory over Maine to open the season this past Friday. His time of 24:50.6 was good for third-place overall in the meet, and was tops among Black Knights participating. The time was a personal best for 8 kilometers, as Lara's finish was pivotal to propel Army to the narrow win.Â
The Black Knights, who came in at No. 12 in the USTFCCCA Preseason Northeast Rankings will return to action on Friday, Sept. 16 against Iona College in Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, N.Y.
