Nichtern Named Premier Lacrosse League Rookie Of The Year
September 19, 2022 | Men's Lacrosse
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Brendan Nichtern '22, Army West Point men's lacrosse all-time leader in points and assists, was named the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Rookie of the Year after a stellar rookie campaign. Nichtern beat out teammate and the No. 1 pick in the 2022 PLL Draft Logan Wisnauskas, the Cannons' Asher Nolting, and the Atlas' Chris Gray for the award.
Nichtern, like how he did for the Black Knights, orchestrated the Chrome attack all season as he helped the team to a 7-3 record and the third seed in the PLL playoffs. He led the team and was fifth in the league in points (goals + two-point goal +assists) with 38 during the 10-game regular season. His team-leading 22 assists were third in the league. Nichtern had two assists in the quarterfinals defeat to the Chaos to finish his first season with 40 points on 16 one-point goals and 24 assists.
Nichtern was the ninth overall selection by the Chrome Lacrosse Club in the 2022 PLL Draft in May.
