Women’s Rugby Picks Up Road Win at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, CT – Army West Point women's rugby took down Quinnipiac by a score of 24-19 to improve to 3-0 this season.
The first half was a defensive battle, with the Black Knights finally breaking through in the 20th minute after great build-up play from Emma Richards-Smith led to a Codi Butt try. Alissa Eisenhart made good on the conversion to put Army ahead, 7-0. The Bobcats would answer with a try and conversion of their own before the half, as the teams went into the break with the score knotted at seven.
Quinnipiac would get out to an early 12-7 lead in the second half, scoring a try four minutes in. After Eisenhart made good on a penalty kick, the Bobcats were able to score their third try of the contest to pull ahead 19-10. Needing multiple scores with less than 20 minutes remaining, the Black Knights went on the comeback trail.
Cecilia Ollis scored her fourth try of the season to make it 19-17 following another Eisenhart conversion, setting up the final 10 minutes with the game on the line. Army fought forward, with Molly Murtagh eventually finding Sydney Schaaf for the game-winning try with seven minutes remaining. Army went ahead 24-17 after Eisenhart's third conversion of the contest and were able to stop the Bobcats attacking threats in the closing minutes to see out the victory.

- Alissa Eisenhart totaled nine points and has knocked in 17 conversions this season.

B-Side Brigade
FINAL: Army B 62, UNE 3
The Army B-Side matched up with the University of New England, posting a comfortable 62-3 victory. Kate Woenker led the way for the Black Knights, scoring five tries in the contest. Christina Ellis and Cecilia Ollis got the try-scoring started for the Black Knights, with Ollis also knocking in three conversions. Amonee Wilson, Grace Macune and Shade Fullerton-Sander rounded out the try scorers for Army, with Marissa Wollbrinck adding a pair of conversions in the victory.
