Fixemer Named to Preseason All-League Team, Black Knights Tabbed Second

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Army West Point Volleyball was tabbed second in the 2022 Patriot League Preseason Poll while Paige Fixemer was named to the seven-person Preseason All-League Team as announced by the league on Friday.

Army received four first place votes and 110 points to claim second place in the poll. Colgate claimed the top spot with 124 points and 12 first place votes, and American in third with 105 points and two first place votes. Navy trailed in fourth place, followed by Loyola Maryland and Lafayette. Lehigh, Bucknell and Holy Cross rounded out the poll.

Army finished the 2021 season with a record of 17-9, including an 11-5 record in conference matches. The Black Knights finished third in the league in kills per set (12.38) and blocks per set (2.14). In the 2021 season, Army held opposing teams to an average .168 hitting percentage

Fixemer earned a spot on the All-League Team for the second consecutive year. The junior middle blocker had a stellar sophomore campaign as she appeared in 97 sets and led the team in kills (277) and blocks (101.0). She finished 14 matches with 10 or more kills and posted a season-best 19 kills against Colgate. Her strong performance earned her a spot on the All-Patriot League First Team.
