Three Named USILA Scholar All-Americans

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Liam Davenport, Wyatt Schupler, and Jack Weigand have been selected as USILA Scholar All-Americans.
To earn USILA Scholar All-American honors, student-athletes must have reached senior year academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Candidates must also be either an All-American, a member of a North/South team, an all-conference player or an outstanding player.
Davenport, a native of Setauket, N.Y., saw action in 12 games and had a career-high 25 ground balls. He majored in engineering management, branched field artillery, and will be stationed in Hawai'i.
Schupler, a native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., started in net in every game in the 2022 season. The Preseason Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year ranked near the top of the statistical categories throughout the season while earning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week three times. He finished with a career-high 180 saves. He majored in economics, branched field artillery, and will be stationed in Fort Stuart, Ga.
Weigand, a tri-captain from Denver, Colo., played in 13 games and was tied for the team-lead in caused turnovers per game (1.0). He majored in operations research, branched air defense artillery, and will be stationed in Fort Hood, Texas.
The trio was a part of the senior class that won 38 games and won the 2019 Patriot League Championship as freshmen.
All three were commissioned as second lieutenants in the US Army during the West Point commencement ceremony on May 21.
