Peck Named Coach of the Year, Three Capture All-League Honors
May 09, 2022 | Women's Tennis
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Head Coach Paul Peck highlighted the postseason honors for the Army West Point women's tennis team, as he was named Patriot League Coach of the Year for the 17th time in his career in a release put out by the conference office on Monday morning.
Peck was one of four Black Knights to be featured among the awards, as the duo of Stephanie Dolehide and Caroline Vincent garnered First Team All-Patriot League accolades and Cooper Jackson landed a spot on the Second Team.
The Cadets are coming off another historic campaign, as the program made its 16th trip to the NCAA Tournament after winning its third Patriot League Championship in five seasons. After upsetting No. 1 Boston University to win the conference title, Army advanced to play No. 44 Princeton on the campus of No. 5 UVA. Though the team ended its season with a 4-0 loss, Army finished the year with a record of 25-10 (5-2 PL), falling just shy of the program's single-season record of 26 wins (2008).
Peck was named Coach of the Year for his stalwart leadership of the Black Knights, which led to the team securing its 16th Patriot League title during his tenure. This year's squad turned in a dominant, 15-4 mark at home while shutting out opponents on 20 different occasions. At one point, Army won 14-straight matches and finished the regular season by winning three-consecutive contests.
This marks the second-straight year that Dolehide, a team captain, has collected First Team All-League honors. The senior turned in a 3-1 record at No. 1 singles in conference play and finished 13-6 overall. Alongside Vincent, she competed to a 7-2 record in Patriot League doubles at the top spot and was 16-6 overall.
Vincent's First Team accolades are the first of her career, as she was a Second Team selection during the 2020-21 season. The team captain posted a 4-2 mark at No. 2 singles against Patriot League opponents and completed her senior season 14-7 overall.
Jackson was one of three rookies to receive a Second Team nod. In her first season at Army, she went 6-1 at No. 3 singles in conference play to go along with an overall record of 22-5. She was 7-2 against conference opponents at No. 2 doubles, going 29-6 overall while playing primarily with teammate Paige Herremans.
