Twelve Black Knights Earn Rugby East Accolades

WEST POINT, N.Y. --- Twelve members of Army West Point Men's Rugby have earned 2021-22 Rugby East All-Conference awards, as announced by the committee on Thursday afternoon.
Army led all teams in the awards by claiming 12 of the 33 spots on the three all-conference teams. Leading the way for the Black Knights was the 2021-22 Rudy Scholz Award winner, Larry Williams Jr., on first team. He was joined by his teammates Matthew Meehan, Drew Dunham, Collin Grosse, and Sean McNulty. All five of these Black Knights played in every contest this season and play key roles in the team's D1A National Championship title.
Six members of the team earned second team accolades. Koikoi Nelligan, Steven Rohde, Lucas Pattison, Tiaan Masconi, Nolan Green, and Mike Amberg. The six had stellar seasons for Army, highlighted by Nelligan being named the Most Valuable Player of the 2021-22 D1A National Championship.
Isaac Merret rounding out the awards by earning honorable mention nods. He recorded three tries in the Fall 2021 15s season for the Black Knights.
