Men’s Rugby's Season Comes to a Close at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Army West Point men's rugby drew first blood and had things within three points at the half, but couldn't withstand a Navy Midshipman onslaught in the final 40 minutes, dropping a 38-10 decision at Prusmack Rugby Complex in the D1A CRAA quarterfinals.
The Black Knights finish the season 10-4 overall.
Matt Leslie gave Army an early lead in the playoff match with a try inside 15 minutes, with the Black Knights seeking a semifinal berth for the first time since 2022. The Midshipmen then took their first lead seven minutes later with a conversion making it 7-5.
Navy added three on a penalty before Chance Loudenback tied the match with a try eight minutes before halftime. Navy retook the lead with a penalty in the 39', but Army still had things within 13-10 at the break.
The Mids took a multi-score lead just four minutes after halftime however, and never looked back, with tries to follow in the 47', 77' and another pair of penalties in the closing 10 minutes.
