DOUBLES (2,3,1)
The Black Knights won the doubles point for the third straight match against Navy, including last week's meeting. Two of the three matches went to a tie-breaker. All three matches were back-and-forth affairs. Two doubles finished first. The team of Samuel Eden and Diego Huttepain won the last three games to win the match. After losing serve to trail 4-3, the pair got back on serve to tie the set at 4-4. They won four straight points to take a 5-4 lead and eventually downed their opponent 6-4. In No. 3 doubles, Nathan Jose and Jake Huarte went into a tiebreaker with Jack Dabek and Luke Garner. The duo trailed 4-1 in the tiebreaker before tying it at 4-4; however, Navy won three of the next four points. The doubles point came down to the No.1 spot in a match that lasted 51 minutes. A.J. Woodman and Thomas Lake prevailed 7-6(5) in a tiebreaker. The duo led 4-1 but found themselves trailing 5-4 after a run by the Mids. Woodman and Lake won the next two points for a 6-5 lead but had to go into a tiebreaker. Trailing 2-0 in the tiebreaker, Woodman and Lake rallied for a 5-3 lead and held on to win the breaker, 7-5, for a 1-0 Army lead.
SINGLES (1,6,4,5)
Singles play was interrupted due to inclement weather forcing a stoppage of play; the matches were completed inside. Momentum swung back and forth in all six singles matches. A.J. The first match to conclude was in No. 1 singles with Navy winning 7-6(1), 6-1. In six singles, Jake Huarte led 3-1 in the first set before falling 7-5. He lost another 7-5 decision in the second set as Army trailed 2-1. Navy won in four singles, 6-4, 6-1.
