Women’s Lacrosse Holds Off American For Tenth Straight Win

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights won their tenth consecutive game with a 17-14 victory over the American University Eagles on Saturday.
GAME SUMMARY
The Black Knights roared to an 8-0 lead, but had to hold off a late fourth quarter push by the Eagles. Jolie Riedell scored three of her game-high six goals in the fourth quarter.
Kathleen Sullivan got things going with a goal at the 11:25 mark in the first quarter. 24 seconds later, Carleigh Armstrong scored for a 2-0 lead. Julia Gorajek and Caroline Raymond added goals one minute later. Raymond added Army's fifth for a 5-0 lead after one.
Riedell scored a pair early in the second quarter for a 7-0 lead, and Armstrong made it 8-0 with 11:54 left in the second quarter before American scored its first goal. Army took a 10-3 lead into halftime.
The Eagles outscored the Black Knights, 5-3, in the third quarter and scored three straight goals to open the fourth quarter to cut Army's lead to 13-11 with nine minutes remaining. Riedell answered with consecutive goals and Armstrong tact on Army's 16th goal with three minutes left for a five-goal lead. AU scored twice before Riedell scored her sixth goal with 35 seconds left.???????? ?????????? ?????????????? ??

- Jolie Riedell tied a career-high in goals with a game-high six, with three coming on free position attempts. The six goals are tied for the most by a Black Knight this season. She also won a team-high five draw controls.
- Kathleen Sullivan finished with four points on two goals and two assists.
- Caroline Raymond scored twice, added one assist, and had three draw controls.
- Carleigh Armstrong scored four goals for the second straight game.
- Lacey Bartholomay stopped a career-high 15 shots.
