Sprint Football Places 22 Cadet-Athletes on CSFL All-Academic Team

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Following another successful season in 2021 that saw the program advance to the Collegiate Sprint Football League's Championship game, the Army West Point sprint football team has landed 22 spots on the All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.

The release comes on the heels of 13 Black Knights earning selections to the CSFL All-League Teams. Head coach Mark West and the Cadets went 6-2 (4-0 CSFL North) during the 2021 campaign and outscored opponents 236-55 en route to capturing their fourth-straight CSFL North crown.

Army's 22 honorees were the fourth-most of any program in the league, behind only Cornell (40), Navy (31) and Penn (27). Alec Wells leads the Cadets with a team-high 4.21 cumulative GPA in political science, with a focus in American politics. He is one of two Black Knights to have surpassed the 4.00 mark, joined by teammate David Dickerson (4.05). Of the 22 players that were tabbed, 14 have a GPA of at least 3.50.

In order to be eligible for nomination to the CSFL All-Academic Team, student-atheletes had to be at least a sophomore and post a cumulative GPA of 3.20. Over 140 student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team, which was conducted with its enhanced format for the first year.
