Army Performs Well at Tri-Meet

WEST POINT, NY --- Army West Point Men's Gymnastics defeated William & Mary but fell to #5 Michigan on Saturday afternoon, at Gross Center.
Steven Manolakis led Army on floor exercise with a score of 13.500 to finish fourth overall. Kalvin Kingshill was close behind placing seventh with a score of 13.250 while Franco Peirano scored 13.050. The team finished with a score of 65.700 on the event.
Zachary Mitchell was strong on pommel horse posting a season-best of 13.00 for sixth place. Kingshill recorded a 12.1500 followed by Connor Cavanagh with 12.100. The Black Knights finished with a score of 60.350.
Army recorded a team score of 63.900 on still rings. Patrick Armstrong led with a 13.100 to finish sixth overall followed by Joseph Buselmeier in seventh who scored a 13.050. Declan Henriques was strong on the event finishing with a score of 12.900 for the Black Knights.
Army did well on vault finishing with a team score of 67.200. Jacob Nauman tied for fifth on vault recording a 14.000 for the team followed closing behind by Cavanagh and Manolakis who each recorded a 13.550.
Buselmeier and Armstrong led the team on parallel bars with a score of 12.900 each. Manolakis finished with a score of 12.850 for the Black Knights. Army racked up a score of 63.250.
Army was strong on high bar which Zachary Perez leading the way. The freshman placed second on the event with a score of 13.350. Mitchell had a stellar performance to place third overall with a score of 13.100. Buselmeier followed with a score of 12.600 to tie for seventh overall. The Black Knights finished with a score a team score of 63.700.
Michigan led on all events to finish with a team score of 412.850, followed by Army in second with a score of 384.100. William & Mary finished third with 377.200.
