Gymnastics Falls to Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. --- Army West Point Men's Gymnastics fell to Navy 397.250-379.450 in the Star Series Meet, presented by USAA, on Saturday afternoon.
Army was edged out on floor by the Midshipmen, trailing 66.950-65.000. Mathew Davis led the team with a score of 13.850 to claimed second place in the event. Franco Peirano claimed fifth place with a score of 13.300 for the team, a season-best score for the sophomore.
Gabe Almeida led the way on pommel horse scoring 12.700 to earn fourth place. Davis followed with fifth place and a score of 12.500. It wasn't enough as Army was edged out 64.850-59.450 in the event by Navy.
The Black Knights fell 66.300-62.450 to the Midshipmen on rings. Davis led Army with a score of 12.950. Joseph Buselmeier recorded a score of 12.500 followed by Declan Henriques and Patrick Armstrong who each scored 12.400 on the event.
Peirano and Davis led the Black Knights on vault, each scoring 14.150 to tie for third place. Connor Cavanagh placed seventh with a score of 13.800. After vault, Navy led 269.30 – 256.10 over Army.
Davis led the team on parallel bars tying for third place with a score of 13.050. Zachary Mitchell followed with a 12.950 to secure fifth place in the event. Army still trailed Navy in the meet, 332.850-319.250 heading into the final event.
Zachary Perez led the Cadets on high bar with a score of 12.550 to earn fifth place. Buselmeier followed in sixth with a score of 12.200 and Kalvin Kingshill with 12.050. Navy capture the event, solidifying its win over Army, 397.250-379.450.
