Davis Leads Black Knights at All-Academy Championship

Dallas, Texas --- Army West Point Men's Gymnastics finished second at the 2022 All-Academy Championship while Mathew Davis won the all-around at the championships, on Saturday night.
Davis won the all-around with a score of 80.100 winning winning two of the six events. The Firstie led Army on all but one event, parallel bars.
On the floor exercise, Davis steered the charge for Army claiming second place with a season-high of 14.100. Steven Manolakis followed with a score of 13.550 to tie for fifth place on the event. The team finished with a score of 68.000 on the event
Army had trouble on pommel scoring 55.350 as a team. Davis led the team with 12.200 followed closely behind by his teammate Jacob Nauman who recorded a score of 12.100. Navy dominant the event taking four of the top five spots.
As a team, the Black Knights placed second on the rings with help from Davis who won the event with a season-best score of 13.750. Patrick Armstrong tied for fifth scoring 13.100. Joseph Buselmeier placed eighth for the team scoring 12.900.
Davis won the vault with a score of 14.300, a season-best for the Firstie. Nauman followed in fifth place with a score of 13.950. Navy won the event with a score of 65.250 while the Black Knights followed closely behind with 69.200.
Zachary Mitchell had the top score for Army, 12.950. Daviswas right behind his teammate with a score of 12.900. Air Force was strong on the event winning it with a score of 65.000.
On high bar Davis tied for fourth scoring 12.850. Zachary Perez was close behind with a score of 12.750 followed by Kalvin Kingshill with 12.700. Army won the event with a score of 63.400.
Navy won the team event scoring 393.500, followed by Army in second (381.250) and Air Force in third (379.900).
