Davis Excels at Winter Cup Finals

DALLAS, TX --- Mathew Davis was tremendous at the 2022 Winter Cup Finals earning a place in the top 20 in four events, including the all-round, whiling claiming sixth on the floor exercise.
Against the best in the nation, he claimed sixth place on floor with a score of 13.200. The Firstie recorded a score of 76.300 in all-around scoring a total of 152.33 in the all-around from both days.
Davis scored 12.800 on high bar earning 20th overall and scored .350 better than his Friday score. He placed 18th on pommel horse (12.200) and 16th on rings (13.050). On vault he posted a score of 11.900 and closed the meet with a stellar 13.150 on parallel.
Coach's Corner
"He started on high bar and did an excellent routine, his floor was good, but one small break. Pommel horse and rings were great. He had trouble on vault, but then finished with a good set on parallel bars. Very proud of him. We had fun." – Dr. Doug Van Everen
