Women's Lax Rolls to 19-9 Win Over Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Army West Point Women's Lacrosse continued it's winning streak against the Marist Red Foxes today, with a 19-9 win. Jolie Riedell and Julia Gorajek both continued their strong starts to 2022, scoring five goals each to lead the squad to its third straight win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Army jumped out to an early three goal lead thanks to Riedell, Caroline Raymond and Gorajek, respectively. Marist matched the Cadets with three consecutive goals of their own to tie the game at the end of the first quarter.
The Cadets continued to grind on offense and defense, scoring five second-quarter goals to take control of the game. Kathleen Sullivan, Carleigh Armstrong and Sidney Weigand all jumped onto the score sheet with goals in the period. The Black Knights would lead, 9-4, at the half
Army kicked it into high gear in the second half, boosting it's lead to 17-7 at the end of the third quarter. Julia Franzoni and Madison Warne both scored their first goals of the season as a part of the eight-goal frame.
Riedell and Meghan McLaughlin rounded out the scoring for Army, who would go on to win by a score of 19-9.
