Army Takes Second at Ohio State Tri-Meet

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Army West Point Men's Gymnastics placed second at the Ohio State Tri-Meet while Mathew Davis placed first in the all-around and on the floor exercise.
The host team, Ohio State, won the meet with a score of 393.950 with Army behind with a score of 374.850. William & Mary placed third with a team score of 364.550.
Davis led the team on floor with a score of 13.750 to place first in the event. Jacob Nauman was close behind in third place scoring 13.050 for the Black Knights. Kalvin Kingshill placed fifth on the event with a score of 12.850. Army won the event with a score of 64.850.
Ohio State dominated pommel horse taking the top four spots in the event. Davis placed sixth with a score of 12.050. Connor Cavanagh scored a 11.600 while Gabe Almeida followed with 11.550.
Joseph Buselmeier and Davis led the Black Knights on rings as the two tied for third with a score of 13.500. Patrick Armstrong claimed sixth place for the Black. Knights with a score of 13.250.
The Buckeyes led the teams on vault taking the top four spots, but Army was right behind in fifth and sixth place. Davis claimed fifth with 14.100 while Nauman followed in sixth with 14.000.
Armstrong led the Black Knights on parallel bars placing sixth overall with a score of 12.700. Zachary Mitchell had the next highest score of 12.400 placing ninth overall. Ohio State led the teams on the event winning the top four spots while William & Mary claimed fifth place.
Davis was at the front of the charge for Army on high bar tying for fourth with a score of 12.500. Buselmeier took seventh with 12.250 while Mitchell followed in eighth with 12.200.
Davis won the all-around with a score of 78.150. Ohio State walked away with first place while Army claimed second and William & Mary took third.
