Milligan Adds Gorman to the Coaching Staff

WEST POINT, NY – Army West Point softball head coach Cheryl Milligan announced the addition of Jessica Gorman as an assistant coach to the 2022 staff.
"Jess brings a great deal of expertise and enthusiasm to our team," said Milligan. "She is a fantastic clinician and understands the intricacies of running a successful college program. She brings a great value system and love of the game that will serve West Point Softball well."Â
Gorman comes to Army after spending three seasons at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis as an assistant coach. While with Jags, she was heavily involved in recruiting and working with prospective student-athletes. Gorman worked as a hitting coach for IUPUI, developing practice plans as well as individual programs for student-athletes. While at IUPUI, she helped five players earn All-Horizon League honors.

"I want to thank coach Cheryl for giving me the opportunity to be apart of the Army softball team," said Gorman. "I am very excited to contribute and continue to build the Army softball program into a championship team."

Prior to IUPUI, Gorman was an assistant coach and volunteer at Wright State for three seasons. During her times as a volunteer she assisted with the outfield and hitting. For the next two seasons, Gorman was the outfield and hitting coach for the Raiders, helping two outfielders earn All-Horizon League honors in her first year. During her second season she guided two more All-Horizon League honorees.
Gorman played four years at Wright State and was the started in center field for the Raiders. She finished career in the top-ten in Wright State history in multiple categories, including doubles, home runs, stolen bases, on base percentage, and runs scored. Gorman earned multiple accolades during her career including All-Freshman team, Second-Team All-Horizon, First-Team All-Horizon, and Horizon League All-Tournament Team.

Gorman earned a bachelor's of science in education in sport science and a master's in sport management from Wright State.
