COACH'S CORNER
"We had another day of historic performances here in Boston after a record snowfall and blizzard yesterday. Sun came out today and we had a great meet. Most of what was outstanding took place on the track. Luke Griner cemented himself atop the Patriot League list and moved into the No. 3 spot on the all-time 800m list with his 1:49.98. He has been a very consistent performer all season and tonight it was more of the same.
In the mile, Mitchell Burr and Caden Foster ran very well in a tactical race, as both guys know how to get to the finish line first and tonight they showed great patience and great competitive instincts. Marshall Beatty in the 3k was probably the most outstanding performance of the night. We knew he was ready to run fast and the race played out to his advantage as the pace was pretty consistent early and hot late. He kept moving up throughout the field and finished with a strong last 800. He now moves to No. 2 on the Army all-time 3,000 meter list only behind a two-time Olympian Dan Browne. It was a great night of racing we are in good shape and the guys are ready for the championship meets." – Mike Smith
