Women’s Swimming & Diving Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Thanks to a strong academic showing during the Fall 2021 semester, Army West Point Women's Swimming & Diving received Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The Black Knights finished the term with a GPA of 3.09 to secure the award for the first time since the spring 2020 semester, an effort that was led by Sammie Edwards' 3.73 GPA. The senior was one of six Cadets to finish with a mark above 3.50, joined by Maddie Clark (3.64), Jasmine Coe (3.58), Meghan Cole (3.55), Megan Colpo (3.60) and Alexis Jankovich (3.63).
"Coach Nigro is one of our sports' up-and-comers and you're seeing it here," Greg Earhart, the Executive Director of the CSCAA, said. "These 25 women are some of the best ambassadors that Army West Point and the Patriot League could ask for."
Each semester, the CSCAA awards teams with a GPA of 3.00 with Scholar All-America Team status. Army was one of nine Patriot League programs to make the list, joining American, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola and Navy.
In total, 728 teams from over 400 different colleges and universities were recognized by the CSCAA for their academic achievements. Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
