ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point golf team took an 2.5-1.5 lead over Navy after the four-ball matches on Saturday in the Star Match between the two service-academy rivals as part of the Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA.

Samuel Kim/Lake Kim (Army) def. Keegan Shreves/Andrew Wilkinson (Navy) – 1-up
Tom Katsenes/Gary Bullard (Army) def. Ben Burton/Braxton Tracy (Navy) – 5 & 3
Marshall Daniel/John Heckel Jr. (Arm) vs. Noah Nuez/Benjamin Valdez – Halved
How it Happened
Coaches Corner with Chad Bagley
"A lot of great stuff today. A tough, gritty performance by a couple of our teams. I was really excited about Samuel and Lake Kim. They got down three early in the match as they were three down through six and were able to get it back and win it on the 18th hole and give us a full point. I think that was big.
"Tom Katsenes and Gary Bullard played a great match today and they won 5 & 3 on the 15th hole. So a lot of good performances, but we have a few things we need to clean up and focus on tonight in our preparation for tomorrow."

"The putt was about 30 feet and Coach Grusczynski and I were judging the speed and looking at the breaks. It was slight right to left putt and I just wanted to hit one close, so Sam didn't have the pressure make a putt and I was just lucky that it went in."
