Abercrombie Tabbed CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After a strong showing in the Army West Point Sprint Football Team's season opener against Penn, junior kicker Ben Abercrombie has been named the CSFLÂ special teams player of the week.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native successfully kicked all five of his extra-point attempts in the Black Knights 38-13 thrashing of the Quakers. Abercrombie also showed he can kick from distance, splitting the uprights on a 46-yard field goal attempt in the third quarter.Â
Abercrombie also factored into the return game as the kickoff specialist for Army. The junior kicked off seven times for the Black Knights totaling 376 yards for an average of 53.7 yards per boot.Â
Teammates JC Watson and David Dickerson were named to the leaue's honor roll after their strong performances last Friday.Â
Abercrombie and the Cadets will look to follow up on their impressive performance this Friday, Sep. 24 when they travel to Phillipi, W.V. for a matchup with Alderson Broaddus University at 7 PM.Â
